Job Description:
Budget Title: Resident Director Department: Residential Life Professional Rank: SL2 Salary Range: $30,568 Date to be Filled: January 2010 Brief Description of Duties: - works with a team of 3-5 RDs in an area of 1,000-1,400 residents;
- directly supervises 6-13 Resident Assistants;
- is responsible for developing activities emphasizing leadership and community development including large-scale programs and area commencement ceremonies;
- promotes diversity through role modeling, challenging others, and emphasizing respect;
- serves as a hearing officer for the student conduct process with full sanctioning abilities;
- works closely with area Faculty Master to enhance the out-of-classroom experience;
- has autonomy in running their building while working in a team atmosphere;
- serves on a departmental committee;
- may work on a 10-hour per week collateral assignment;
- serves as a resource person to hall and area government;
- regularly interacts with students during nights and weekends;
- works with maintenance staff to preserve and enhance the facilities;
- participates in evening and weekend duty rotation within area;
- participates in August and January training programs; and
- is directly supervised by the Assistant Director of the assigned area.
Requirements:
A Bachelor's degree and one-year post undergraduate experience is required. A Master's degree in College Student Personnel or related field is preferred. Other essential qualities include excellent organizational, administrative, communication, leadership, decision-making skills and the ability to work autonomously in a team atmosphere.

This is a 10 month, live-in position with salary of $30,568 and excellent benefits.
