Job Description:

Grade: SL-3  
Salary: $ 37,662

Binghamton University seeks candidates for three positions of Assistant Director of Admissions or Admissions Counselor, based upon candidate experience. Responsibilities include public presentations on and off campus, application review and participation in a wide variety of recruitment activities as a member of a cohesive, dynamic admissions staff. The positions include significant travel.  
 
The persons hired will work with colleagues in and beyond admissions to enroll talented students. Top candidates will be able to establish relationships of respect with secondary school counselors, families of prospective students, agencies and organizations. He/she will work with a range of offices and student organizations on campus to support the mission of enrolling academically talented students.

Requirements:
The successful candidate must hold at least a Bachelors degree, have excellent written and oral communications skills and be committed to Binghamton's mission of academic excellence and diversity. Evidence of a superior work ethic, a habit of taking initiative, the ability to work independently, and a desire to help students grow are essential. Previous experience in student affairs or its equivalent is desired. Participation in student activities in positions as orientation assistants, resident advisors, peer counselors or other student-to-student advising activities will be considered. A valid driver's license is required.
