Job Description:
Binghamton University's (State University of New York at Binghamton) School of Management invites applications for one tenure-track position at the Assistant Professor level in Management Information Systems (Fall 2008) to serve in Bachelor's, MBA, EMBA and Ph.D. Programs. The hiring of new faculty members will support teaching courses on Data Management, e-business, Systems Analysis and Design, Data Communications, and IT Security. The hiring will also support the school's efforts to expand some of the interdisciplinary work in the areas of CIO leadership, leadership in virtual teams/organizations, IT governance, and learning.
School of Management is AACSB accredited and offers BS, MS, MBA, and Ph.D. degrees. It is not departmentalized. According to Kiplinger's Personal Finance magazine, Binghamton is the best value among public universities in the country for out-of-state and in-state students.
Other publications also consistently cite Binghamton's outstanding education. Binghamton is a substantial regional high-tech community with employers such as IBM, Lockheed Martin, Universal Instruments, British Aerospace, and United Health Service. Three hours from New York and one hour from Syracuse and Ithaca, Binghamton is a low cost of living regional medical/retail hub for 200,000 people.
Both research and teaching are highly valued. Quality research is supported with a two course/semester teaching assignment.
