IE User Brief: Solving a Busy Agency's Unique Hiring
Challenge
|
 |

For
non-profit human services agencies such as Jewish Family
Service of Worcester, Mass., sound financial management
has never been more vital. The effects of an anemic
economy, managed care and slashed state funding have
taken a toll on the entire community services sector.
Consequently finance managers find themselves under
greater pressure than ever to balance the growing call
for services with today's challenging financial climate.
So when faced with the sudden need to recruit a new
finance director, JFS quickly realized it needed something
else as well: help to quickly and effectively identify
applicants with just the right mix of skills, experience

Impact of New EEOC Reporting Rules
|
 |

Recent Federal guidelines clarify at last who is
and who isn't an 'applicant' in the context of online
recruiting.
While most observers applaud the new procedure, employers
are left as always to implement the rules without
adding layers of complexity and expense - and without
arbitrarily overlooking top candidates or inadvertently
discouraging them from applying.
Online applicant screening can offer
a remarkably effective solution for balancing all these
factors. Employers now can rationally attract only qualified,
motivated applicants, thereby minimizing the effort
required to comply with the new Federal reporting guidelines.
